Black Headed Caique

Loveable with an abundance of energy:

The Black-Headed Caique (pronounced kye-eeks) is a lovable parrot packed with an awesome personally dedicated to fun. Like most parrots they love to play, bathe, and chew. Black-headed Caiques talking ability is limited, but they are extremely sociable. Caique's grow to lengths of 24-25 cm and weight approximately 160g. The minimum size cage for one Caique is 24 X 24 X 24. Black-headed Caiques do very well on a basic pellet food supplemented with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables along with grain and sprouted seeds.

When handled firmly and raised correctly, Black-headed Caiques are fun friends! They are very intelligent and can learn a variety of tricks! Caiques are also very affectionate and cuddly birds.
