My passion for Parrots started when I was 18
years old. My best friend's father was a breeder in Ontario
and I was fascinated by all their Parrots. An egg was rejected
by their pair of Blue Fronted Amazons; I was devastated so my
friend gave me the egg along with an incubator.
To my amazement on January 9, 1983, Brady, my baby blue fronted
Amazon parrot, hatched before my very eyes...I've been around
parrots ever since. During those formative years, I read, researched,
read some more and had excellent teachers (my friend & her dad)
who taught me proper critical hand feeding techniques.
I wasn't ready to go into breeding full time as we started raising
our own family. However, parrots were always a passion I knew
I would get back into Parrots one day. In 1991, in Brampton,
Ontario we purchased a beautiful pair of Black Masked Lovebirds.
And so it began…we went on to purchase more and more lovebirds
to add to our flock of fine feathered friends. So it was full
speed ahead into the world of aviculture. Spencer, a hand raised
baby green Quaker joined our family. I can't begin to tell you
how this little fellow changed our world, well, suffice to say
it's thanks to him that we now have the small flock of birds
that we do.
We now live in Moncton New Brunswick where I share my wonderful
world with my husband Craig, my 3 children Joe, Jesse, Caitlin
, and of course our fids (Feathered Kids), which you can see
in the Photo
Gallery. There you will meet Willow and
her pet Quincy our Quakers, Duncan our Senegal Parrot, Simon
and Harley our chatter box Congo African Grey's, Cleo our Harlequin
Macaw that thinks she's a Senegal Parrot, and Kiwi our smallest
(a budgie). As well as the dogs, Sisco and Bailey, the turtles,
fish, and many other interesting pictures.
